Cherokee Youth Center:
• McMillan Pazdan Smith architects was selected, and they began design on 4/29/19
• Negotiation contract for CM-R with Beverly Grant-Barnhill
Big Cove Community Building:
• Contract for construction executed with Owle Construction
• Site work has begun 3/11/19
• Anticipated completion date: 11/5/19
Big Cove Community Gym:
• Finishes were finalized on 7/2/19
• Johnson Architecture completed final construction documents
Riverview Campground Clean up:
• Bid package for remediation advertised. Bid date of 3/14/19.
• Expected completion date by: 9/30/2019
New Snowbird Complex:
• RFQ was advertised and two candidates were interviewed
• Contract for design is being negotiated
• Contract for CM-R is being negotiated
Needle Exchange:
• Excavation of property began 6/15/19
Ginger Lynn Welch Parking:
• Project changed traffic pattern and parking for better efficiency and safety at Ginger Lyn Welch Building
• Completed Re-surfacing damaged areas, curbing, sidewalk modifications and re-striping
Kituwah Fields
• Civil and Re-design plans finalized on 7/15/19
US 441 Street Lights
• Street lights completed on 7/10/19
Casino Trail lighting Phase 2
• Design completed
Master Plan Charette
• Johnson Architects presented Master Plan Charette to business committee
• Business committee approved to move forward with Master Plan Charette
• Next steps are to present plan to individual communities
Fish Hatchery:
• Phase 1 remodel design complete
• Bids were due 07/18/2019
Junaluska Museum:
• RFP was advertised to solicit an architect for design of a new 14,750 square foot museum in Robbinsville, NC
Fire Mountain:
• Currently new trail features are being planned
Smokey Mountain Elementary School Waterline Extension:
• Project connects school to EBCI Community Water System to improve service reliability and fire protection
• Design work is complete and permitting is underway
• Approximate project cost $304,000.00. EBCI share is $186,000.00 with remainder to be paid by Jackson County Schools
